Throughout history, the world has never lacked great talents and brilliant people. However, there are various limiting factors that are placed in the path of exceptionally talented and brilliant young people who by no fault of theirs cannot afford to gain admissions into or pay for high-quality top schools across the world.
Welcome to the Talented and “A” Students (TaAS) Foundation, a transformative organization in the United States of America that is registered under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3), with a branch in Ghana. At TaAS Foundation, our unwavering dedication lies in empowering exceptionally talented and brilliant young individuals from underprivileged backgrounds across the globe. Founded by Mrs. Gladys Desbordes Hill, our foundation emerged from a profound belief in the power of education to uplift the youth and break the cycle of poverty.
The journey began when Mrs. Desbordes had the privilege of providing her own children with exceptional educational opportunities in Ghana and the United States. It was during this time that she became acutely aware of the unequal access to quality education faced by talented students who lacked similar opportunities.
Driven by a strong conviction to make a difference, Mrs. Desbordes Hill asked herself a crucial question: How can unprivileged yet exceptionally gifted individuals be supported in attaining the education they deserve? In 1995, she took the courageous step of personally covering the educational expenses of talented and brilliant individuals in Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone who were unable to access top-quality education or secure admission to esteemed institutions.
Inspired by her personal commitment, the TaAS Foundation was established. Our mission is to improve the educational landscape for underprivileged but highly talented students in both urban and rural areas across the world. We firmly believe that by providing these deserving individuals with the opportunities they deserve, we can create a strong educational system that drives economic growth and empowers millions to rise above poverty.

The Talented and “A” Students (TaAS) Foundation works with key partners to create opportunities and Inspire underprivileged but exceptionally talented and brilliant children and youth to lead themselves, families and communities out of poverty through ethical leadership, quality education and lifelong learning.
