Each member brings a wealth of experience, passion for education, and a commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of these exceptionally talented and brilliant individuals from underprivileged backgrounds.
DAASEBRE KWEBU EWUSI VII
Ghana
Daasebre Kwebu Ewusi VII is the Paramount Chief of the Abeadze Traditional Area in Ghana. He received early education at Abeadze Dominase M/A basic school and later attended the Anglican school in Abeadze Dominase. Despite being a Methodist, he actively participated in the Anglican school’s religious activities.
He pursued tertiary education at Takoradi Polytechnic, studying general construction, and earned a master’s degree in Governance and Sustainable Development from the University of Cape Coast. Daasebre continued learning through technical courses and an economic empowerment program in the U.S.
Daasebre’s leadership roles include being a former President of the Central Regional House of Chiefs, a member of the 2012 Presidential Transition team, and Board Chairman of the Electricity Company of Ghana, addressing power outages. He is also involved in various organizations, including being Board Chairman of COA Research and Manufacturing Company Limited and founder of the Road Safety Foundation.
Despite his busy schedule, Daasebre maintains a connection to his Methodist roots, actively supporting the church and holding roles such as Diocesan Patron. His commitment reflects a harmonious relationship between his traditional role and religious affiliations.
Keesla Blay-Miezah
United States
Keesla Blay-Miezah has served over 15 years in the world of hospitality assuming executive leadership roles with companies that include Carver Hotel Group, Stars and Strikes Entertainment Centers and Hilton.
As a seasoned business development and sales executive, she has led and collaborated with sales teams at Marriott, Intercontinental Hotel Group and AMF Bowling. With her passion for developing business relationships in excellence, Keesla has led several organizations to new heights in revenue growth, engagement, and productivity.
As an Air Force brat, she loves to travel and spends her spare time with her husband, John, and their three dogs.
Dr. Olu Q. Menjay
Liberia
Dr. Olu Q. Menjay is the fourth President of Tubman University, with over 25 years of leadership experience in education and non-profit sectors. His background includes executive roles in Liberia and contributions to Virginia Union University-Africa and Global Culture Education Initiatives. Dr. Menjay is committed to Tubman University’s strategic growth, emphasizing student and staff development through innovative educational opportunities and study abroad experiences.
As a certified Scrum master, he ensures his team understands the scrum framework, principles, values, and practices. Dr. Menjay’s leadership extends beyond academia, with roles in Baptist organizations, Liberia Council of Churches, Liberia Telecommunication Corporation, and the Baptist World Alliance, where he served as Vice President and Chair of the Commission on Human Rights Advocacy.
An active scholar, Dr. Menjay held an Assistant Professor appointment at Mercer University, lecturing globally on leadership, education, and theology. His educational journey includes a PhD in Contextual Missiology/Education from the University of Wales, a Master of Sacred Theology from Boston University, and a Master of Divinity from Duke University. Recognized for his exceptional leadership, he was featured in “Portrait of Courage: Stories of Baptist Heroes” and received an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree in 2019 from the Liberia Baptist Theological Seminary.
Dr. Menjay’s diverse background positions him as a transformative force in academia and a dedicated servant leader in influential capacities.
Sheila Bekoe-Codjoe
United Kingdom
Sheila Bekoe-Codjoe, a dedicated trustee of our charity, contributes a wealth of knowledge and compassion to our aim of assisting underprivileged children in their educational pursuits. Sheila, who has a Master’s degree in information systems from the London School of Economics, has successfully combined her technical expertise with a strong dedication to humanitarian concerns.
Sheila’s sympathetic disposition extends into her role as a mother of four sons, having worked with patients battling mental health difficulties for over a decade. Her own experiences as a mom provide vital insight into our programmes, fostering a thorough grasp of children’s different requirements.
Sheila’s significant achievements have not gone unnoticed. She was appropriately recognised for her unwavering dedication and commitment to supporting marginalised and ethnic minority families, especially during the difficult times caused by the COVID pandemic. This honour demonstrates her commitment to improving the lives of those in greatest need.
Sheila Bekoe-Codjoe, as a trustee, is crucial in driving our charity’s efforts to provide chances for impoverished children, assuring their access to education and a brighter future. Her unique combination of professional expertise, personal experiences, and support for underserved communities makes her an excellent contribution to our campaign.
